Day 1 Wed London / Colombo
Fly Sri Lankan Airlines from Heathrow.

Day 2 Thu Colombo
Arrive Colombo and transfer to the first class Taj Samudra hotel. Relax by the swimming pool or enjoy a stroll along Sri Lanka’s famous Galle Face in front of the hotel.

Day 3 Fri Colombo / Deer Park
After breakfast, depart for Colours of Angsana Deer Park, surrounded by national parks and ruins, once the private hunting grounds of ancient Kings of Ceylon. Enjoy a guided late afternoon bush walk to appreciate the flora and fauna of this area followed by dinner and overnight (approx. 128 miles) (B,D).

Day 4 Sat Deer Park
Morning at leisure or enjoy an optional excursion to the mighty rock fortress of Sigiriya (see Experiences decription under Departures & Important Notes) or the Dambulla Rock Temple famous for its beautiful murals, inscriptions and statues. In the afternoon experience an elephant safari by four-wheel drive to the grassy plains of Minneriya or Kaudalla National Park – home to large herds of elephant. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Deer Park (approx. 31 miles) (B,L,D).

Day 5 Sun Deer Park
After breakfast, visit Polonnaruwa, the 12th century capital of Sri Lanka, to see the impressive ruins of the Royal Palace and the awe inspiring Buddha statues carved out of rock known as Gal Vihare. Afternoon at leisure to admire the wonderful scenery at Deer Park, take a dip in the swimming pool and enjoy an included 60 minute spa/body treatment per person. After dinner, you may choose an optional night safari (see Experiences decription under Departures & Important Notes) (approx. 19 miles) (B,D).

Day 6 Mon Deer Park
Sri Lanka’s most enchanting treasure is it’s people. This morning, sample traditional country life with visits to a local temple, a paddy field, bustling bazaar and a warm invitation to the home of a Sri Lankan farmer to share with him and his family a typical Sri Lankan curry lunch out in the paddy fields. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening, enjoy a private al fresco dining experience with champagne at your choice of location within the hotel’s grounds, cooked by your own chef and served by your own butler (approx. 25 miles) (B,D).

Day 7 Tue Deer Park / Colombo
After breakfast, leave for Colombo and the first class Taj Samudra for overnight (approx. 128 miles) (B).

Day 8 Wed Colombo / London
Sri Lankan Airlines flight to Heathrow, arriving later the same day. Alternatively, extend your stay on the beach in Sri Lanka at the appropriate supplement.(B).
