Our Ceylon Tour South visits many highlights of Sri Lanka plus the area of Yala and Galle.

This tour is accompanied by a local guide or driver-guide from departure Colombo to arrival at your beach hotel or Colombo. During your stay at your selected beach hotel assistance will be provided by our local representatives.

Day 1 Tue or Fri London/Colombo
Fly SriLankan Airlines from Heathrow on Tuesday, or Friday at a supplement.
Day 2 Wed or Sat Colombo
On arrival transfer to the Mount Lavinia hotel. Afternoon at leisure, perhaps have a swim and relax.
Day 3 Thu or Sun Colombo/Kandy
Drive northwards towards Kandy including a visit to the Pinnawela elephant orphanage en route. After lunch continue to Hunas Falls for overnight (approx. 125 miles) (B,L).
Day 4 Fri or Mon Kandy
After breakfast enjoy a short nature walk with the hotel’s naturalist, then leave for a city tour of Kandy including the Botanical Gardens, market square, arts and crafts centre. After lunch, visit the Temple of the Tooth, and enjoy a cultural show in the evening. Overnight at Hunas Falls Hotel (approx. 55 miles) (B,L,D).
Day 5 Sat or Tue Kandy/Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, drive south through undulating hills with views of rushing waterfalls, visiting a tea plantation en route to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya for overnight. In the afternoon enjoy sightseeing of Nuwara Eliya town. Overnight St Andrews hotel (approx. 80 miles) (B,D).
Day 6 Sun or Wed Nuwara Eliya/Yala (or Udawalawe National Park)
Depart for the deep south and Yala (or Udawalawe National Park between Sep01- Oct16 when Yala closes in the dry season). In the afternoon, take a jeep safari to the wonderfully scenic Yala (or Udawalawe National Park between Sep01-Oct16) where you may see wild elephants, deer or jackal. Overnight Rosen Rennaissance in Kataragama (approx. 115 miles) (B,D).
Day 7 Mon or Thu Yala (or Udawalawe National Park)/Beach Resort
Drive south to the fortified historic city of Galle to visit the Dutch Fort. In the afternoon drive to the Riverina hotel or Bentota Beach or your chosen beach hotel at the appropriate supplement for six nights or more (approx. 145 miles, dependent on your chosen hotel) (B).
Day 8 Beach Resort/London
Fly Sri Lankan Airlines arriving Heathrow the same day.
