Escorted
The Ceylon Experience tour is accompanied by a local tour guide or driver-guide from Day 3 to arrival at your beach hotel on Day 6. Extensions to the main tour are on an unescorted basis, however, assistance will be available from our local representatives throughout.

Day 1 Tue or Sun London / Mount Lavinia
Fly Sri Lankan Airlines from Heathrow on Tuesday, or Sunday at a supplement. An extra night may be required beforehand at the Mount Lavinia hotel, due to early morning flight arrival.
Day 2 Wed or Mon Mt.Lavinia
On arrival transfer to the Mount Lavinia hotel for two nights.
Day 3 Thu or Tue Mt.Lavina
Morning at leisure. In the afternoon enjoy a city tour of Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo, including Independence Square, the 100 year old clock tower and historic fort area. Visit the colonial Galle Face hotel for afternoon tea. Return to Mount Lavinia for overnight (B).
Day 4 Fri or Wed Mount Lavinia / Habarana
After breakfast drive north to Habarana Village for overnight. In the afternoon visit the sacred caves of Dambulla with their statues of Buddha and views over the surrounding forests. Optional visit to Sigiriya rock fortress bookable locally. (approx. 150 miles) (B,D).
Day 5 Sat or Thu Habarana / Kandy
After breakfast leave for Kandy, visiting a Batik factory and spice garden en route. Enjoy afternoon sightseeing of Kandy including the Temple of the Tooth, Market Square and Upper Lake Drive. Tonight enjoy a cultural show. Overnight at Topaz hotel (approx. 85 miles) (B,D).
Day 6 Sun or Fri to Day 8 Tue or Sun Kandy / Beach Resort
Morning drive to the Botanical gardens where you will see tropical plants from all over the world. Continue south to a tea plantation and factory. Drive to Pinnawela elephant orphanage, where you may see baby elephants being fed or bathed. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch proceed to the Riverina hotel for three or more nights on the beach on an RB basis, or your chosen beach hotel at the appropriate cost (approx. 130 miles) (B,L).
Day 9 Wed or Mon Beach Resort / Colombo / London
Sri Lankan Airlines flight to Heathrow arriving later the same day. Sunday departures from Heathrow, may require one night more or less at the appropriate cost, due to flight schedules.
